Hello,
I've joined mostly so I can read and comment on posts here, I'm still happy playing on LJ (I'm under the same name). If I've left you a comment and you don't know who the hell I am you can check out my journal here. All the fics I've written are archived here too. Though I have recently started archiving my fics here too, after all the more the merrier.

9:42PM - List of fics
Welcome to my journal!
In all other aspects of life I am messy and disorganised but I am obsessive about filing, tagging and indexing my work, (apparently even when not at work,) so in deference to my anal retentiveness I give you my contents page.
Currently all my fiction entries (and most but not all of the non-fic posts) are open to everyone, (if I ever write anything that is NC-17 I will friend lock it, just for peace of mind. Some of these have slash/yaoi pairings and some are het, the pairings and ratings are listed as a guide, read what you like ignore what you don't.

11:42PM - Incoherent post of randomness.
Wow January's nearly up... (nearly at Imbolc). Don't know what I've done with the last month... besides a lot of cooking and exercise. That reminds me I've lost 20bs since the start of November :0) (that last pound took 2 weeks to shift) only another 40 to go for a 'healthy' weight.
Been watching the Australian Open this week.... think I may have mentioned that, once or twice, in various places, on an almost daily basis. Men's final tomorrow morning (at least in my timezone) kind of excited Murray Vs Federer. Being British I have to support Murray of course, which is funny because in all his other match ups I root for Federer (he plays such pretty tennis and he seems like a nice guy so I always want to play in the next round). Should be a good match though whoever wins if they both play at their best.
Er... Um this post doesn't seem to really have a point. Oh well, consider this I am still alive and talking rubbish post. Should have some fic ready in the next couple of days I am about 90% on several different bits but keep dithering.

12:21PM - Watching Tennis
Been watching the Australian open, loved the match between Murray and Nadal yesterday they were both playing some fantastic tennis (particularly Murray), shame it had to be cut short. Saw the interview with Murray afterwards, he looked so uncomfortable.... he obviously really doesn't like talking to interviewers.
Now am watching Tsonga Vs. Djokovic which is pretty fun back and forth tennis. Tsonga's always interesting to watch, he does such strange shots :0).
If you asked me to lay down money on this tournament it would be on Federer, but I would love it if Murray won....
Have never understood why it is I like watching Tennis I can't stand most sports, but I do have fun watching tennis. Anyway will stop boring you all now.
And hey I have a tennis appropriate icon (sort of).

Wow haven't posted anything for awhile so here I am. Had my birthday on Wednesday, 1 year off 30 now (which is my personal deadline for having a decent job, home and life in general. I'm not totally unrealisitic I'm happy with another rented property so long as I'm not doing the student like sharing again). Had a fun evening, my lovely housemates bought me champagne and chocolate cake before we headed off to the pub. Completely blew the diet of course but I delayed my cheat day until then so it fits in anyway. Most of my family sent me money this year including my Grandmother who sennt a very generous #500 (my keyboard doesn't have pound signs) which should nicely fill in the difference between my income and the absolute minimum outgoings for a few months and hopefully by then I'll be earning again.
In my quest for fitness I decided to start doing the C25K (a programme which gradually gets you up running 5K a day in 9 weeks), I just did W1D1 (definitely need to work on that fitness). Though I am a lot healthier than when I started (or rather restarted) this fitness drive at the start of november. So far I have lost 19lbs and can now do the fitness videos I've been using without collapsing in a puddle of sweat half way through.
In more fannish news I've been working on another highlander fic 'old games' which has been about half done for months..... it's still about half done but it's a longer half done (it keeps growing). I'm going to start being more regulated about writing, doing a little every day. We shall see how that goes.

I'm on the train back up to Leeds, thanks to an early night and the use of paracetomol cold I had been worrying about didn't develop into the flu that had my Mum and her husband bedridden for a couple of days each. (Although as a pessimist I feel I should remind myself there's always tomorrow).
I have never held much stock in new year resolutions (they tend to be things people try for a week and then forget) but I do have a number of things I AM going to do in 2010.

8:43PM - Blergh
I'm currently at my Dad's for the New Year weekend, I'm supposed to be travelling back up to Leeds tomorrow morning to be back for Monday, but I seem to be coming down with the flu my Mum and her husband were suffering from. Will have to see how I am in the morning before I attempt the 5 hour train ride back up North. Am still hoping I fight it off in the cold stages.
In a complete change of subject just wanted to say I thought the second part of Dr Who was much better than the first. Am lpoking forward to the start of the new series in the spring. Anyway I'm going to read and go to bed in the hope of waking up well. Night all.

11:38PM - 2010 is going to be better than 2009.
We're getting on to the end of the year now. i must admit to being glad, 2009 has been a fairly..... unconstructive year for me personally. (Though if we're looking at fandom related things then it could be considered a good year, I've found several 'new' fandoms and read a lot, written a bit and made lots of new friends). In the real world though not a lot has happened in the last year, the biggest thing being that I am still looking for a job and for awhile there I was practically a shut in. I like to think though that 2010 is going to be the year when things start moving.
In 2010 I WILL:
1. Find a job (one that I enjoy, pays me well and that helps progress my career)
2. Learn to drive (I refuse to reach my 30th birthday, still unable to drive)
3. Have a house of my own (it can be another lease, but much as I like my housemates I am so tired of student style sharing, I want a home.)
4. Pay off at least a good chunk of my credit card and save some money.
When I find that job the rest will follow naturally as a result of being able to afford them again.

6:40PM - Gundam Wing fic :- "Learning to communicate" part 5
Wow it has been a long time since I posted any of this, but I have at last another part of my GW WIP learning to communicate (does anyone even still remember it). Think of this as my late Christmas present to the GW fandom.
Title: Learning to communicate part 5
Pairing: 1x2 with a side of 3x4 and possibly 5xS
Warnings: Yaoi pairings, and the occasional shameless descent into cliche. This fic is unbeta'd.
Rating: R perhaps
A/N: Set after EW. The new administration has found a nice peaceful occupation for the pilots. This part turned into a mostly 3x4 section, I think Quatre just wanted to have his say. Previous parts are available here: part 1, part 2, part 3 part 4 this was only supposed to be about 3 parts long. It keeps growing, I now think it's going to be about 8 parts.

There we go my GW fix for the next week or so. All the lovely highlander stories at the hlh_shortcuts fest have got me inspired to work on some more of the highlander fic I have been writing for the last 6 months, not to mention all the smaller plotbunnies that are busy hopping around eating all the rational thoughts in my brain. Though I quite fancy doing another chapter of Politics and Reality.... hmmwell we will have to see what flows onto the page.

Possibly the best moment of Dr Who last night was when my Mother turned round to me and asked "Oh, is the Doctor gay?", apparently even she saw the slash potential.... and I don't think she's even heard of slash.

3:07PM - Snow and trains
I'm on the train down from Leeds, it's kind of fun travelling through the snow, so far it hasn't seemed to affect the train schedule.... I'm rserving judgement as who know what the London Underground or the trains to Kent are doing, my Dad was saying there were hour ong delays yesterday. It is kind of pretty outside my window though, and it's just right for Christmas. It's definitely deeper here than in Leeds.

10:42PM - Drabbles - Bleach and Gundam wing
Gah, I am working on the next chapter of Learning to communicate, I was doing so well and then I moved into a scene between Trowa and Heero. Really can't get the dialogue right between them, probably because most of their canon interactons are full of long and occasionally confusing monologues (surely I'm not the only one who has noticed that).
In the meantime I bring two Bleach and one gundam wing drabble that have been sitting untouched on my hard drive for a while. The first is about the 10th division and the second the 11th (My two favourite divisions). Followed by a drabble about Heero and Trowa.

10:44PM - Eeek where did all the time go
For 2010 I want to stop leaving things to the last minute. It's 1 hr and 15 minutes away from the 20th and I am yet to buy I single Christmas present, to make matters worse I am going down to my Mum's on the 22nd (or possibly the 23rd in deference to sudden surprise interview) and I need to get theirs sorted before then.
I went into Headingley today to look for presents (Leeds city centre on the last saturday before christmas not something I'm brave enough to face) and found nothing. On the plus side I only fell over once on the ice during my walk in and out.
Still enjoying the hlh_shortcuts fics there are some really great stories up and they keep coming.... I have no idea who wrote which one though even the ones that I probably should recognise. I'm suddenly in the mood to write again but can't decide what to work on, would be good to get some more of my GW fics done I haven't done anything on them in ages but I have this mag 7 plot bunny and another highlander fic that I keep coming up with new ideas for. Watch this space, will try to post something fic like before leaving Leeds... not to mention any fics I work on at my Mum's.

9:55PM - snow and mulled wine
It's snowing outside!!!! (duh, as opposed to inside the house, stupid self). So there's snow on the ground and everything looks all white and pretty and christmassy (at least until tomorrow when the inevitable transport failures will destroy the charm of the situation.... you think we could manage half an inch of snow but past experience tells me chaos will ensue). Anyway it's all nice and pretty and we have lights up in the front room and made some mulled wine and bought out mince pies and invited people over, hmmm. I don't think I realised before how nice mulled wine is.... I never really liked it before but it's actually really tasty and warming.
Then there's more highlander fics to read at hlh_shortcuts. I've been obsessing trying to work out who wrote each one, it's so much fun trying to guess. I'm a bit behind in commenting but i'm going to make sure I comment them all including the one I wrote so people can't tell (which is kind of weird, after all what comment do you give yourself?). All the fics have been really really good, intimidating when I consider the quality of my writing but awesome to read.
